For us, sustainability is not optional. Sustainability is in our DNA and that of our parent company. It is the reason why we are in the catering business. Because we believe that everyone has the right to tasty, healthy, and fair food. Built on sustainable principles that we extend to all aspects of our company and every restaurant we operate. Below, you will find the main ingredients of our 5-pillar plan towards a sustainable planet.

Organic says something about the way our food is made. For example, organic farmers opt for a natural way of growing crops and take into account the natural behaviour of animals.

It’s not without cause that we call the majority of our produce and ingredients sustainable. They come from suppliers who have an eye for environmental conservation and/or raise animals in a responsible manner.

These products carry labels such as Beter Leven and Label Rouge, MsC and others.

We believe in fair trade that contributes to sustainable development.

Trade with respect for human rights and a better income for producers and workers in developing countries.

Fair trade contributes to better farming methods, working conditions, harvests and living environment.

We believe in good and honest food from local suppliers or with certificates of origin.

That is why we opt for good regional products as much as possible. Our regional products are also available in Belgocatering locations outside the region, because they are relevant to customers throughout our network.

5. Plant-based

Plant-based food is deeply embedded in the global food landscape, but this wasn’t always the case.
Vegetarian and vegan food has been subject to scepticism and prejudice for decades. Only recently have people started to warm to thie idea of plant-based alternatives.

We help that awareness by promoting this produce and to turn it into delightful and tasty dishes.
